Though neither person thought they would marry an artist, Jesse and Carissa have loved that throughout all their life together they have shared a love for creating. From the early years of drawing dates to now working 10ft apart in their shared home studio space, they wouldn’t change a thing. And though both have found careers in the creative world, it’s still true that opposites attract. Their differences have become some of their greatest strengths as a creative duo. Jesse’s background in graphic design and Carissa’s experience as a fine artist brings all the important aspects of the creative process to their work.
Jesse and Carissa draw from a variety of styles and inspiration and enjoy a variety of mediums together. Overall, their work speaks to their playful and joy-filled view of life. They desire to create meaningful and beautiful work that is professional but doesn’t need to take itself too seriously. It’s more fun to have fun! And while work and rest and play is constantly a tightrope balance, Carissa and Jesse’s approach to their work, life and creative process believe that all three are tied to creating true and beautiful things.
Carissa Bowser
Carissa has been creating art since she can remember and she hasn’t stopped since. With a coffee in hand you can most likely always find her in her studio dreaming up some new art piece or at the nearest coffee shop sketching and illustrating.
She graduated with a BA in Studio Art where her and Jesse first met. Though her art career began as a fine artist focusing in oil and acrylic painting, Carissa has found a new love for illustration and design.
Carissa’s favorite projects are children’s book illustration and poster designs for bands, markets, or any local event that allows her to share her love of her home in South Carolina.

He has a decade of experience in branding, marketing, design, and illustration, merging a playful yet bold approach to illustration and typography.
When Jesse is not busy being creative, you can usually find him exploring one of his many hobbies. Whether that be disc golf, skateboarding, hitting the bike trail, or fixing up their shared home and studio.

Welcome to the Garden.
A seed that sprouts out of the soil is a huge victory for that little plant. So much had to happen for that little pop of green to peek out of the ground. The sun, the rain…the patience. In reality, the gardener is in perfect participation with the surrounding elements. He is not in it alone.
We call our studio Victory Garden because we believe every time something is created together that is one more little piece of beauty added to the world. And what a victory that is! Like that little seed that had to die, something new and beautiful came from it! We hope to be a place full of that type of beauty. In a chaotic and rushed world may we help bring a little more joy, and peace, play and color! That we would be patient gardeners, participating in the garden work - together.
And whenever that new thing comes out of nothing - way we celebrate and enjoy it’s beauty!
